Initiation is the way the soul grows and finds its unique project in life. Initiation requires both ascents and descents, climbing the ladders of wisdom, and descending to the depths of love and healing. Through the dual lenses of myth and depth psychology initiation becomes the ideal context for understanding anxiety and addiction, death and divorce, illness and healing.

In this study of the “awakened soul” imagination becomes the essential power which can turn painful traumas and twists of fate from victimization to initiation.
